Pipeline
The Nadleh Whut'en territory is located in an area that is part of an 'energy corridor' that runs east/west, and is proposing to be used mainly for pipelines. Currently there is an existing natural gas pipeline that crosses Nadleh's territory which was build in the 1950's without Nadleh's consent.
There are several pipelines being proposed in our territory including:
-
Apache Pacific Northern Gas Pipeline - Gas pipeline from Summit Lake (north of Prince George) to Kitimat.
-
TransCanada Coastal GasLink Project - Gas pipeline from northern BC to Kitimat. The Shell Canada LNG plant will liquify the gas and load into tankers for delivery to Asian countries (i.e. Japan, China, Korea, etc.)
-
Spectra Energy - Gas pipeline from Summit Lake to Kitimat. Details forthcoming.

The map below shows some of the pipeline proposals, within the context of the CSTC territory (of which includes Nadleh Whut'en) and the sedimentary basins.
